Benefits of Aerosol Fire Extinguisher Systems for Road Transport Vehicles

Economical

Installation times and costs for the Firecom fire extinguishing system are less than with traditional systems thanks to its design, which is optimised to have a small footprint and use less extinguishing agent to quickly and effectively put out fires.

Firecom’s aerosol extinguishing systems for automotive applications are easy to install: they are not pressurised and are very small, making them suitable for any vehicle type. The fire extinguishing generators do not require extraordinary maintenance, and have a tested service life of 15 years. Just scheduled a six-monthly visual inspection and check of the electrical components.

The aerosol extinguishing agent is non-toxic and environmentally friendly, guaranteeing the highest levels of protection for vehicles, people and the environment.
The quality, safety and effectiveness of the product is certified in Italy and internationally.
The aerosol is not damaging to either the mechanical or electrical components in the engine compartment it protects. No component present in the engine compartment is damaged following discharge of the extinguishing agent.

Causes of Fires in Road Transport Vehicles

One of the most common causes of fires in transport vehicles is electrical short circuits. Short circuits can be caused by malfunctions in the electrical system or deterioration of the wiring, leading to fires which spread rapidly, above all in vehicles transporting flammable materials. Lack of or insufficient maintenance and improper use of a vehicle can cause the engine to overheat. If an engine is not properly cooled, for example, this can lead to fire in the event of very high temperatures. Accumulation of fuel or oil in the engine compartment also increases the risk of fire.
Firecom’s aerosol fire extinguishing system is the most effective solution, compared to traditional systems, to effectively protect road transport vehicles.
