About Us.
Firecom introduced its innovative aerosol fire extinguishing system based on potassium salts in Italy in 2002 and internationally in 2010. The extinguishing agent is manufactured in house by specialised technicians, using only raw materials from carefully selected Italian suppliers which are monitored throughout the supply chain, and then distributed all over the world.
For this reason it has become unique among Italian manufacturers in the sector, bringing innovation and technology to fire extinguishing systems for civil and industrial plant engineering and the automotive and marine sectors, committing to sector R&D for continuous improvement on a daily basis.
The quality of the raw materials used, monitoring of the entire supply chain, cutting-edge technology, artisanal experience and specific expertise guarantee professional results for class A, B and C fires.

New Italian and international certifications.
Firecom receives new Italian and international certifications confirming the quality of its innovative fire suppression system.
In addition to ISO 9001 certification, Firecom also holds ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification. KIWA K23001/06 Certification is an international certification for nonpressurized condensed aerosol generators and components used in fixed fire extinguishing systems: Firecom is the first company in Italy to achieve this. The company has also received the prestigious ItalyX – Certified Italian Excellence award from Italian daily “Il Sole 24 Ore” in partnership with industrial association Confindustria. For the second year running, Firecom has received the ESG Sustainability Report – 2024 from STP Certification for its commitment to sustainability.
New innovation management.
In June, Firecom is purchased by Andrea Maria Kappler, someone already involved with the company for many years, as the right-hand man and go-to figure for the old management. Acquiring the company know-how, the fruit of years of experience, in its entirety, the mission of the new ownership is to implement a corporate industrialisation process which aims to increase the production capacity and obtain high-quality products by working on new methodologies and putting innovative processes into action.
RK Italia founded for the national Covid-19 health emergency.
RK Italia is founded: a Firecom project taking up a position at the front line of the difficult phase of the Covid-19 pandemic in Italy, with the manufacture of protective panels which represent a valid contribution to protecting public health, helping limit direct contact between individuals and infected relatives, in conjunction with mask use.
Type approval of our fire extinguishing system for buses.
The AK0746 fire extinguishing system for buses is one of the few in Europe to obtain type approval in accordance with the applicable R107 regulation. This regulation makes it mandatory to install fire suppression systems on all newly manufactured vehicles.
Growth in the international market.
This year, the company is fully embracing the road transport sector. The new ownership is taking on all previously acquired certifications, activities and expertise, and will continue to operate in all areas of use of aerosol fire extinguishing systems. The company is expanding and consolidating its presence in the international market.
Opening up to the international market.
While other extinguishing agent gases are being prohibited, the aerosol manufactured by Firecom is one of the few which are environmentally friendly, do not damage the ozone layer and do not contribute to global warming. The non-toxicity tests are repeated and validated. In the same year, the company enters the international market for the first time.
Production is 100% in house, with expansion of the company's sectors of operation.
Specific requirements of the Italian market lead the company to design and manufacture its fire suppression systems in house: everything is carried out in its own labs. Aerosol systems are engineered for spaces in buildings, vehicles and boats, even though the company was initially specialised in civil plant equipment.
First quality certifications.
In just a few years, the company obtains environmental compatibility and non-toxicity tests from the laboratories of La Sapienza University of Rome. Moreover, as a pioneer in the aerosol sector, Firecom has Laboratorio Tesi – a specialised laboratory authorised by the Italian Ministry of the Interior for the fire suppression sector – certify its range of products with radial outflow, based on the UNI ISO 10877-1 standard.
